While public Facebook events can spread fast, it is likely to reach many people in a short duration. In the area of RSVP on the Facebook event page, you can get the number of people whom you are going to get for the event. When you place your event as public and when someone RSVPs about, they are attending the event, that information would be shown up on their newsfeed and it can be seen by their friends as well. So, this way the event details can be seen by their friends. When their friends respond it can be seen by their friends as well.
