Actually this is not the foremost time when some huge technology based company has shown their interest in Indian Hyperlocal market. Last year, Facebook also showed their mere interest in this segment. Through this app this networking giant wants to help it’s clients to find spas, event planners, and pet services on the page.
Additionally, services incorporate plumbing, Health and medical, Automotive (repair), arts and marketing, business services, pet care, personal care (spas), and several others.
Aim of Google behind launch of Areo
In January of this year, Sunder Pichai put his words on Digital Unlocked programme that, “Imagine if every single small business owner were to leverage the power of internet and information. The economy would simply boom. Google aims to give those businesses that power”.
Digital Unlocked Programme of Google
From the future prospect, Google Areo can help their cause for Digital Unlocked Programme. This programme will train SME owners through sessions that are ISB and FICCI certified. It will enlighten them with the knowledge as to how digital payments, e-commerce and mobile platforms work. It will inspire users to enlist themselves on the platform which would directly help Google expand their hyperlocal network.
Additionally, Google was busy on Google station programme since few months which considers the motive to provide high speed Wi-Fi across 110 railway stations in the country.
