With their new added section for vehicles in Marketplace, Facebook recently announced their latest addition to the section in the name of ‘Rentals’.
What Facebook has to say?
“Starting Nov. 9, people using Marketplace in the US will be able to browse and search hundreds of thousands of rental units through partnerships with Apartment List and Zumper.”
About Rentals
This newly added section will enable users to narrow down their search, browse through the images and get connected with the listing manager, directly from Marketplace tab.
The Rentals option includes:
- Custom filters for location, price, bedrooms, bathrooms, rental type, square footage, dog/cat-friendly
- A broader selection of rental listings
- Ability to upload 360 photos to individual rental listings, giving potential renters the chance to see around every corner like never before
The Rise of Marketplace
About 18 million of new listings are added to Marketplace and the searches have to 3x since their beginning. Originally started for the usage of buy, swap and sell, Facebook has garnered 450 million users every month. Marketplace is going to give Facebook a route towards e-commerce and online shopping. They have even experimented with newer listings like eBay Daily Deals.
Future Prospects
Facebook is also trying to integrate Marketplace with Messenger via dedicated Messenger Bots. With their peer-to-peer payment solution in Messenger have proven that they are more than interested in going for online shopping mode in future.
