Facebook introduces with one-time notification API for business accounts on messenger this week. The new feature will help the businesses to re-contact with the potential customers with updates related to their earlier needs.
The option is currently added to business accounts only so that they can be in touch with their users through direct messages.
Limitations By Facebook
Facebook has implemented some strict limitations for the business in order to contact their users through messenger just to avoid spam. Till January business can respond to the query within 24 hours initiated by a customer with an additional benefit of sending a new message after 24 hours but in a new window. All this can be accessible in standard messaging.
The new API almost works on similar principles but with more restrictive parameters. It will further reduce the potential of spam through messenger.

Facebook had announced that WhatsApp is not being pushed with ads and results in negative to the revenues of Facebook. But there are other opportunities present through which they can cover their revenues. Moreover, those opportunities lie in the messaging area only.
