Google is allowing to display shopping ads for free in the main search results after already making them free in the shopping tab. Google now lets users run shopping ads for free in US search results which will then be shown in knowledge panels. Considering the rise in the online shopping, Google is of the opinion that it is crucial to connect consumers with the best available merchants for their desires.
“When shopping online, it can be daunting to find the right product, the best seller, or the best value. People often have many high quality choices available but aren’t always aware of them all or don’t have an easy way to access them.
For many merchants, connecting with customers in a digital environment is still relatively new territory or a smaller part of their business.”
Google Free Shopping Ads In The Knowledge Panels
Free listings of products in the Google’s main search results will be displayed at first in the knowledge panels that showcase options to buy for specific items.

All the listings that are displayed under the Stores heading are all Google Shopping ads. Users can scroll down to look for more stores, providing a variety of retailers the chance to have their ads served.
These ads will begin from the starting of the summer for free as Google has not given any specific date. Free ads in the shopping tab have shown a huge increase in the customers and merchants engagements, with impressions and ad clicks get a big boost. Free product listings will be first shown on mobile, will be displayed on desktop at a later date. The change, therefore, impacts US search results only.
