Ixigo is now mostly focusing on Hotel bookings rather than on flight bookings and advertisements.
For Ixigo, flight booking and advertisements is a major revenue which provides information on flights, trains, cabs and hotels. “ The company wants to contribute 3-4 times on hotels from revenue standpoint, and is planing to launch much more evolved version of our current hotel product” says chief executive Aloke Bajpai.
Why Hotel booking is still a untapped market ?
The company which competes with Trivago and TripAdvisor aims to close its revenue of 50-60 crore more than its revenue of 23 crore for FY17. Bajpai further says that “ The online booking market is still an untapped market with over 80% of hotels being booked in India through offline channels”.
Providing the right hotel match for its customers
The travel search engine is rearranging its hotel segments product to provide its customer with right hotel match rather than just providing them price comparisons. The company is also focusing on enhancing its mobile experience which has increased 35% of the total booking coming in from mobile applications.
Ixigo planing for new products
The company which raised funds earlier during this year is using the amount to improve technology, and to also roll out few new products in further coming months.
