Microsoft in its Ignite conference in Florida disclosed about the company’s plans to merge LinkedIn in their services. For this, Microsoft has acquired the professional database of LinkedIn for $26.2 billion.
What’s the catch?
The user will be able to view LinkedIn profiles within Microsoft apps and services like this:
What LinkedIn has to say on this?
LinkedIn stated “After you connect your LinkedIn account to your Microsoft account, you’ll seamlessly discover more insights within the Profile Card in your Inbox, your calendar and contacts lists. Simply hover over a contact’s name to see information from their LinkedIn Profile, such as where they work, what they do, and where they went to school.”
The Existing Extensions
LinkedIn can be viewed in Gmail using the free Rapportive extension.
How the feature can be used?
To use it with Microsoft 365, the user needs to open the Profile Card and click on LinkedIn match. Then after logging into the LinkedIn account all the data will get displayed.
More benefits
After such an integration, the Sales users can send LinkedIn InMails and messages from Dynamics 365. Even the LinkedIn Graph will be merged with Microsoft’s Audience Intelligence Graph.
