With Snapchat’s Story success that is a compilation of things in a slide-show, social media apps like Instagram, WhatsApp and now YouTube are bringing the Stories feature on its platform in a rush.

About the YouTube stories

“Reels” or as the stories are called in YouTube is described by the product manager Roy Livne as “YouTube’s spin on the popular ‘stories’ format, but designed specifically for YouTube creators.” Unlike other social apps, Reels will be available to viewers for more than 24 hours.

What YouTube has to say more on this?

They said “We’re also bringing creator-focused features like linking to YouTube videos and YouTube-y stickers [to Stories]” They also added that it is currently under beta version and the team will “learn and improve the product before expanding to more creators.”

The Upsurge of Stories

Snapchat introduced the feature in 2013 that is two years after its initial launch. Afterwards, Instagram launched the same feature in August 2016 gaining 200 million users within nine-months of its arrival. YouTube also expects to grow its social networking Community platform that has 10,000 subscribers that have somehow become a social space for creators.
