Bengaluru based e-commerce company Flipkart is in talks for a strategic partnership with ticketing platform BookMyShow to build out its services and transaction offering against Paytm.
Flipkart Building Payments Platform Phonepe
This partnership will give Flipkart, which also plans out to build its payment platform Phonepe, a play in the ticketing market and a more frequent use case for its service to customers.
Paytm Builds its Armour in Similar Direction
Paytm too has been building its protective layer in a comparative course through its current purchase of arrangements and disclosure stages Little and Nearbuy as likewise its discussions with travel stage Via.com.
Planning to Build their Service Vertical
India’s e-commerce companies are moving and planning to build their service vertical follows a model, just like Alibaba has set in motion. Alibaba along with Ant Financial (Alipay) has invested in Chinese online to an offline platform for services.
Focusing on Local Language Content
BookMyShow has recently launched audio entertainment vertical JukeBox. The firm is also focusing on local language content for both its video and audio platforms to penetrate better in tier 2 and 3 towns, and this move will benefit Flipkart to serve deeper in the smaller towns.
The company had raised Rs 550 crore last year led by Stripes Group. Its other investors include Network18, SAIF Partners and Accel India.
