Silicon Valley based venture capital firm Sequoia Capital India’s Managing Director Gautam Mago has stepped down from his post and will handover his role in the coming few months.

Mago belonged to the seven partners at India unit of venture capital firm and had worked here from over a decade.
Mago may start a new fund
One of the person who was familiar with the matters said that, “Mago will handover his board assignments over the next few months to team members”. As per the sources, future plans of Mago are not clear still it might be possible that he may start a new fund.
Mago tweeted after resignation
On Tuesday, Mago has tweeted that, “Change is at the heart of our business, time to embrace it. Will transition away from current role. Been a privilege to work with founders and the Sequoia team, thankful for all the learnings”.
Mago’s contribution
Mago started working from the Bengaluru office and played a major role in company’s atleast 16 portfolios which includes OYO Rooms, BankBazaar, Practo, MobiKwik and Mad Street Den (artificial intelligence stratup).
