Flipkart claims to hold 27-28% of smartphone market in India across online and offline channels that makes it the largest retailer in the country.

Ayapan R, the senior director and head of mobile phones at flipkart said “Smartphones is one of the biggest category for us and we will continue our focus on this. In July alone, we have launched three exclusive models on the platform including Motorola, Panasonic and Samsung,”

 

Flipkart Vs Amazon

The data provided by technology market research company Counterpoint said that Flipkart had a clear lead over Amazon in the sale of smartphones with a 57% share of the market. Amazon India’s shares for the corresponding period stood at 27%.

 

The Analysts Review

According to industry analysts, smartphones and apparels continue to be the strong points of Flipkart which also owns Myntra and Jabong. Amazon keeps a  stronger focus on fashion, appliances and FMCG, where Flipkart could not do much.
