TikTok is integrating with Whisk that will allow the creators in the food space to link straight to recipes that are found on the Whisk app. There will be a new “recipe” button overlaid on the related TikTok food videos. This new feature will make the TikTok cooking video more functional as it motivates viewers to not only just watch the content but save the content for later use.

This new button will drive huge traffic to Whisk- particularly if a specific recipe goes viral. The button was first observed by the social media consultant Matt Navarra.

The button is displayed right above the name of the creator and video description on the bottom of the left of the screen. When you click on it, you will be directed to a Whisk page where you can see the recipe photos, ingredients and select to save the recipe to your collections. Creators can add the recipe button to a video during the posting workflow through a new “add link” option. TikTok choosing Whisk as a partner makes sense as the recipe app has got a rapid following since its late 2019 launch. Whisk has been awarded the “best of 2020” Google Play Award.
