It’s not a concealed fact that Facebook wants the users to see posts that are from their connections rather than posts from Pages and want the users to have a cheery time they spend on the platform.

 

What the CEO has to say over this?

The main focus over the announcement made by Mark Zuckerberg’s was that “…when we use social media to connect with people we care about, it can be good for our well-being. We can feel more connected and less lonely, and that correlates with long-term measures of happiness and health. On the other hand, passively reading articles or watching videos — even if they’re entertaining or informative — may not be as good.”

 

More emphasis on Posts

Facebook clearly stated the value of posts from connections and commented that “Now, we’ll also consider whether a potential interaction is between two people, or between a person and a Page. Person-to-person will be more valuable than person-to-Page. Connections with people in your network will get the biggest boost because interacting with people you’re close to is more meaningful”

 

Suggestion to Pages

Facebook has not given out the details regarding what or how the changes will be brought about but the Pages can expect a decrease in reach over time. But they have confirmed that these tests are not related to the ones that were undergoing for separation of News Feed in some regions. Facebook’s head of News Feed Adam Mosseri stated that “Page posts that generate conversation between people will show higher in News Feed. For example, live videos often lead to discussion among viewers on Facebook – in fact, live videos on average get six times as many interactions as regular videos. Many creators who post videos on Facebook prompt discussion among their followers, as do posts from celebrities. In Groups, people often interact with public content. Local businesses connect with their communities by posting relevant updates and creating events. And news can help start conversations on important issues.”

 

Reach through Facebook Live

Live Videos are believed to generate more comments because these are happening in real time. Facebook Groups can help accumulate reach and social engagement in this regard. The main reason behind the rise of such posts on the platform are the political hassles that happened in the past.

 

Change in tactics

The main focus for publishers would be to concentrate more on social engagement to generate interaction among the users. The Pages would need to comment over the user’s response along with scheduling of posts, engaging the Groups and maintaining Pages.
