Ecommerce platform Amazon will be investing Rs 1381 crores in its data services unit in November.
Amazon Data Services
New Delhi-registered Amazon Data Services India has raised over Rs 1,367 crore from A100 Row and close to Rs 14 crore from Amazon.com, as the documents filed with the ministry confirmed.
The Rising Business
Amazon Data Services is the second-most capitalised local unit of US-based Amazon, after Amazon Seller Services, which runs most of its ecommerce arm which has infused over $2 billion in this.
Amazon & its other branches
Amazon Data Services shares its registered office with Amazon Internet Services, which is the local arm for Amazon Web Services. It is also striving to gain a public cloud space like Microsoft, Google and others.
The business contributes over $12 billion to Amazon’s global revenue and has margins over 20%. Public clouds now allow companies to buy computing and storage power without owning any data centres.
