It’s been three years since YouTube has introduced its new version for desktop, and now Google is planning to discontinue the old one.

Many new features have been introduced in the past few years, which are working on the new version only. This is the reason Google has decided to discontinue the old version.
Users who are using the old classic version will be notified to switch to the new version, and it will be for six months and then it will automatically switch to the new version.
If the users are not able to switch to the new version they may have to update their browser. However, it is not sure that users will be advised with the notification or not.

In 2017, a new YouTube design and features were launched with a new brand logo. “Clean” material design was launched with a new dark mode feature and many more.
After that many new features have been introduced like live streaming, better support for vertical videos and yet another refresh in the year 2019.
The old version was the most successful version of its time, but now is the time to move on to the new one, if you are still on the old one.
