Facebook is coming up with a new shopping tab and expanding its shopping apps to all US Businesses which will make shopping and selling easier on online platforms.
Reason Behind Shifting To Online Shopping

New Shopping Tab
Facebook has added a new ‘Shop’ tab for mobile users where users can buy products and look for businesses.
According to Facebook,
“Facebook Shop makes it easy for people to find products from businesses they love, discover new ones and make purchases, all in one place.”
Currently, the feature is being tested in the US, users can find it by clicking on Menu Icon and then clicking on the Shop.
Online Stores
Facebook Shops which was launched in May 2020, helps businesses to sell products on both Instagram and Facebook. All the businesses will be able to use Facebook Shops.
New Feature Added By Facebook –
- New design layouts for featuring single products or groups of products in Shops
- Real-time preview of collections as they are designed
- The ability to automatically create Shops for new sellers
- New insights to measure results in Commerce Manager
Expanding Checkout
In the coming weeks, all eligible sellers in the US will be able to start using checkout on Instagram. Checkout makes it easy for people to make a purchase in just a few taps, without leaving the app. To use checkout, businesses must have Shops and use Facebook Commerce Manager or our partners Shopify and BigCommerce. We’ll support more platform partners soon.
New Messaging Feature
Users will now be able to contact Business directly on Whatsapp, Messenger, and Instagram direct by message button provided by Facebook.
Facebook Said
“Messaging through Shops combines the in-store experience of being able to ask a salesperson questions with the convenience of online shopping.
Messaging allows businesses to provide personalized assistance so people can make more informed decisions about their purchase.”
This is feature is being tested on Messenger and Instagram direct and will soon be tested on WhatsApp.
Shopping Via Live Streaming
Now it is easy for the business to sell their products live by featuring their products and selling them live over videos.
