Facebook was looking for feedback on how they can improve the ways in which content ranks on users’ news feed. Facebook has shared a plan on how the company will ease so that users can get new content on their news feed.
The new changes to the news feed will be around the four feedback-driven signals. In the coming months, users will be able to give their feedback to Facebook in different ways.
The process of gathering feedback was launched back in 2019 and popularly is known as the “worth your time” survey.
Facebook Feedback Driven Signal
A. Inspirational Post
Nowadays, users want to see more of an inspirational post on their news feed. Soon Facebook will run a test series to survey people about which posts they find more inspirational and want on their news feed.
Feedback from users will be taken as a signal by Facebook with the focus of showing more inspirational posts on the top of the news feed.
B. Interesting Post
Facebook has tried a lot in showing the post which user wants to watch. To achieve this, Facebook is going to start asking users whether they want to see more of this kind of post or not. Again the feedback will be taken as the ranking factor.
C. Hide The Post
Users are able to hide their posts in their news feed, however, it is not immediate on how to do it. Facebook is going to test a new post design that will help users to hide their posts in a most appropriate manner.
While a post’s engagement — or how often people like it, comment on it, or share it — can be a helpful indicator that it’s interesting to people, this survey-driven approach, which largely occurs outside the immediate reaction to a post, gives a more complete picture of the types of posts people find most valuable and what kind of content detracts from their News Feed experience.
