Yes, you heard it right Facebook is working to introduce an Instagram version for the kids.

Similar to Messenger Kids, Facebook is planning to come up with Instagram Kids as well in the market. As for now, Messenger kids has more the 7 million active users on a monthly basis, in around 70 countries.

According to a report by Buzzfeed, the company is working to create a new version on Instagram for kids under 13 years of age.

We have to do a lot here, but part of the solution is to create a version of Instagram for young people or kids where parents have transparency or control. It’s one of the things we’re exploring.

This week only, Instagram has figured out some new tools for the safety of young users. The tool doesn’t allow adults to text teens until or unless teens have followed them. The platform is trying its best to establish a couple of tools in order to protect users from bullying and online harassment.

Conclusion

It is going to be really interesting to see how Instagram moves forwards with this plan. Sooner, we might see Kidstagram in the play store for users below 13 years of age.

There is no doubt that privacy advocates will have an eye on them and could help them with the potential risks of the platform.
