Retail Outlets have been impacted majorly due to the spread of COVID-19, with many consumers now moving to online shopping and eCommerce options to ensure any unnecessary exposure. But still, there are still some things that still need to buy in-store and in that case, many consumers still want to reduce the time they spend shopping. So considering this Google has added new listing options on the local store searches back in May like ‘curbside pick-up’ which allows consumers to get what they need without having to visit the business.
To which now Google is adding more options in the aspect with more essential listings of the items available in the local stores and also providing more information on delivery options and timings. Now users can choose the ‘Nearby’ filter on top of the page and see all the product options that are available in the stores which they can buy that day.
Google has provided the same filters for a time but these newly introduced improvements displays more particularly the items you can find at the local stores.
“You can check each business’s opening and closing hours, as well as how far each store is from you. You’ll also get a preview of the items they sell that match what you searched for, with a carousel you can scroll through to see pictures and prices of the available products.”
Again, all these details were already available but Google has now made it easier to get all the required details on a single page therefore enhancing its discovery and shopping process. To make sure all the relevant information is available to searchers in your area, the details for these listings are obtained from your Google My Business profile, and the inventory of the product is on the basis of data uploaded via the Google Merchant Center. By making sure every detail is connected with Google via these sources, the display listings of your business will assist local searchers to connect with details they need to make any purchase. All these details are now available in your Google My Business settings.
