Google is testing new ‘people cards’, which will be seen when a user makes a search for any person’s name. Users will get to see the card of the person searched. This is a limited launch. Google launches this virtual card in India and will let individual highlight themselves. This has been seen never before.

It is a bit challenging for those who don’t have an online presence or have a common name, as they will gain presence. and even it is challenging for the user to search for the who has to search for a particular individual. Users must have strong online knowledge.

Google Says

“Today, we are solving these challenges with a new feature called people cards. It’s like a virtual visiting card, where you can highlight your existing website or social profiles you want people to visit, plus other information about yourself that you want others to know.”

Use of ‘People Card’

Google has designed this card for the individual looking to gain an online presence, for entrepreneurs, for influencers, individuals looking for jobs, and business professionals. One can add their online and social links on these cards like a Website link, or the way to social profiles. Even one can add additional things, they want people to know about them.

Someone is searched on Google and they have their people card, a module with their information like name, their work, and their location will be seen with the result. Once tapped on the module you can see the full card. If the searched person shares a common name than the user has to distinguish between them with the given information or people card.

Ways to Create People Card

People Card can be created in a very simple way by y searching their name and making a query in “add me to Search”, but Google account must be signed in which contains information one has to add. Once entering in “add me to search” on the window that appears. The following information can be added for their:

• The image from your Google account
• A description of yourself
• A website link
• Links to social profiles
• Phone number
• Email address

One has to decide, what has to be added to the card.

Google Stated On This

“The more information you provide, the easier it is for people to find you.”

“Our goal with Search is to always make sure people can find helpful and reliable information, so we have a variety of protections and controls in place to maintain the quality of information on people cards.”

No one will be able to make any fake card, only the owner can make one for themselves. These will roll out from today and language preferred in English. It is out in India today. People outside India can use VPN to make their own ‘People Card’.

If someone makes their ‘People Card’, it will only be visible in India, Google has not declared when they will launch it Worldwide.
