There have been few observations that whenever Google releases its core update Search Console’s reporting and data start lagging and gets slow. There are not many theories like this but even so, Google’s John Muller states that any lag or slowness in Search Console is irrelevant to core updates.

AJ Kohn states ” Core algorithm updates generate a lag in delivering search console data. It is an interesting format. Google’s John Mueller replied ” It’s unrelated, but the lag is always awkward. Sorry”
