Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri has confirmed the beginning of a new test that will allow users to have an option of displaying total posts like or not within the app. The team was working on this test for the last couple of months.

Two years ago, Instagram removes the like count for the first time but the test was running in certain regions only. Till date, Instagram has never published the result of that experiment. But Chief of Instagram committed that due to Covid-19 the priority of that experiment was neglected but it is again becoming the priority of the company.

Instagram Set A New Guide On Utilizing Instagram Shops For Maximum Benefit

Statement Given By Chief Of Instagram (Adam Mosseri)

Last year we started hiding like counts for a small group of people to see if it lessens some pressure when posting to Instagram. Some found this helpful and some still wanted to see like counts, in particular to track what’s popular. So we’re testing a new option that lets you decide the experience that’s best for you – whether that’s choosing not to see like counts on anyone else’s posts, turning them off for your own posts, or keeping the original experience.

Social media marketer Paluzzi also commented that users can choose the option while uploading the post also. Users can also hide the likes count of their followers as well, displayed within their app.

Three alternatives Given By Instagram

  • Hiding Like counts on other people’s posts
  • Switching off Like counts on your own posts
  • Keeping full Like counts in the app
