Instagram is working on new approaches to try and restrict users from re-posting their regular feed posts to their stories. Instagram’s testing new labels that will be added to stories posts that have been re-posted from a user’s main feed.

As you can see in the above image, posts that re-shared from both the Reels and IG feed may soon have labels on them showcasing their origin. It does make it look cluttered which could make users feel less interested to re-share posts in this way. Instagram blocked some users from re-sharing feed posts completely back in January. This approach of blocking users from sharing their posts may not have given favorable results, which is why now the company is testing a new approach.

Conclusion

This new test by Instagram does not really seem like will restrict users looking to enhance their exposure by re-sharing but it is interesting to wait and see how it goes.
