LinkedIn is now adding another feature into its on-platform messaging baggage. The app has recently seen 240% growth in messages, thus the changes required.
What is the feature?
The latest feature being introduced is named as ‘Active Status’ which is accessible to all users.
How will this work?
The feature that is currently being used by Facebook, will let the connections know about a user’s being online by displaying a green dot at the bottom right of the profile image.
Additional Instructions to take note of
Active Status is said to be activated by default. The user needs to switch it off if he doesn’t want to receive any message. But, this will also disable his ability to see whether his connections are active or not.
Other Messaging features of LinkedIn
It has a feature named ‘Conversation Starters’, which help the user initiate a conversation with other members and ‘Quick Replies’ which makes it easier to respond on the go.
It has also added contextual functionality that will any important connection for the user while looking for a job.
