The Social Network Pinterest conclude that it does not want to restrict as a social network more, and put more focus in expand on eCommerce, hence Pinterest now decided to change the name of its stories.
That’s why, Today, Pinterest introduces ‘Idea Pins‘ earlier known as story pins, which was tested from last 7 months.
“Idea Pins are an evolution of Story Pins, with a fresh name to better match the uniqueness of a product that empowers creators to share long-lasting ideas and not ephemeral stories. Starting today, creators will have a suite of new publishing tools including, video-first features, fresh editing tools and updates to make creating Idea Pins easier and more creative.”
As mentioned in the above image, the Idea Pin design look basically the same as the Stories choices you’ll discover in other apps, and are open by means of profile at the top of users feed featuring Idea Pins from users you follow and those that Pinterest figures you may like.
Idea Pins are similar to stories and are focuses on short videos. Users can create videos upto 60 seconds in length and users can add upto 20 frames in each idea series.
Additionally, Pinterest is adding new tools in it to edit your videos, including stickers, voiceover & music options. It also added a ghost mode which empowers users to overlay the earlier frame on the creator assisting with directing your video advances.
Pinterest is adding “detail pages” in ‘Idea Pins’ where users can add extra explaining videos – like product info or recipe details.
Users can add topic tags to discover something and can also add users in them by mentioning them via @name
Users will also be able to share idea pins on other platforms with pinterest branding.
It additionally working on product tags (not currently available) and also launching its new analytics tool to provide idea pins performance insight data.
