Back in 2019, Pinterest has introduced its skin tone search qualifiers for the users. However, the feature was available to some regions but Pinterest has a keen interest in making this feature more advance.
Similarly, Pinterest has added Skin Tone qualifier to some other products as well, but now the platform is making skin tone features available to more regions so that more audiences can use them.
Today, we’re announcing the expansion of our skin tone range feature to thirteen additional countries including France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. Skin tone ranges is a Pinterest-exclusive feature that allows Pinners to refine their beauty-related searches based on a set of skin tone ranges. Applying this filter updates your search results to show content that is similar to the skin tone range you’ve selected.
Once the user selects the preferred skin tone, then Pinterest itself gives specific search results to the users. With this users are getting more helpful as well as more meaningful recommendations from the platform itself.
By reducing the search results for the users, will help them to get the right things by having personal touch on their dashboard.
Over the past year, we’ve seen a 5x increase in Pinners using the skin tone range feature to discover beauty ideas on Pinterest
Apart from making Skin Tone qualifier available in more regions, Pinterest has added this feature in its “Try On” tools as well. It is expected to see all these upgrades within this week only.
