Snapchat has come up with a new feature like TikTok which is known as “Spotlight”. The company is paying $1 million to users every day who are posting content on the Spotlight feature.
Snapchat is putting high money to foster its new feature – “Spotlight”. The ones who submit the best content will be awarded $1 million.
The new feature is considered to be the competition of TikTok as it gives users to create almost the same kind of content.
The feature is termed as Spotlight because it is made in such a way that it will highlight the most entertaining video among all the users. The spotlight feature doesn’t consider the number of followers you have. The Spotlight feature allows users to create a short video of 60 seconds. Like Instagram Reels and TikTok, the video can be edit with various tools like:
- Best Hashtags
- Snapchat Lenses
- Sound Recording
- Licensed Music
It’s a fair and fun place for Snapchatters to share their best Snaps and see perspectives from across the Snapchat community.
Submission of Content to Spotlight
Users can easily make and submit their content to the spotlight feature. They just have to create a snap in the usual manner. On the top of “Send to Screen,” it has a new option of selecting Spotlight.
Once you hit it your content will be submitted to the new feature.
Curation of Snapchat Spotlight Content
Snapchat is submitting spotlight content to a new section which is allocated for Spotlight videos. Content is being allocated on the basis of the user’s preferences.
We focus on serving the right Snaps to the right person at the right time. We do this by trying to understand your personal preferences.
Factors that are considered while content curation:
- Watch time
- Bounce rate
Spotlight content first will be reviewed by the moderators. They will make sure that the content is apt and entertaining. The company doesn’t want this section of news or political content.
Earning Money Through Spotlight Submission
The amount which is earned from a Spotlight submission is determined using a system totally based on how many precise views it gets in comparison to different content submitted on the same day.
Earning will be given to users on an everyday basis. The company will give them a message to tell them who is awarded a share in the $1 million.
Spotlight feature is rolling out in the following countries Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, UK, US.
