Though started with the intention of using tweets like slideshow, Twitter Moments could not be used as expected in a user-friendly manner. After coming up with Tweetstorm feature, Twitter stated that Moments are gaining popularity more than ever and are giving out new ad options which will be a gateway for brands to sponsor Moments from premium content partners.

What Twitter has to say to this?

“Sponsored Moments include interstitial Tweets from the brand as well as a branded cover. Similar to other In-Stream Sponsorships, advertisers can promote the Moment to their specific target audience, expanding reach beyond the content partner’s existing followers.”

How do this work?

One of the examples of Twitter Moments sponsored by Bank of America for Moment from Bloomberg along with the Bank of America’s tweet at the Moment. This is one of the great monetization opportunity that enables brands to partner up with prominent creators by displaying their content.

About Sponsored Moments

This new option will allow the brands to promote their ads directly via this. However, this is a little different as the content is not the ad but mostly this is a like the ad content is integrated into a bigger material like blog. As described by Twitter, the Sponsored Moments are an extension of ‘In-Stream Sponsorships’ program. They also stated “The goal with sponsored Moments, as with all In-Stream Sponsorships, is tight alignment between advertiser messaging and partner content. By working with premium publishers as part of an In-Stream Sponsorship, brands know exactly which partner they are working with, and can develop deep brand integrations within that partner’s content.”

How are publishers benefitted from Sponsored Moments?

The Sponsored Moments offers the brands with an option to monetize their tweet content. Twitter commented, “Sponsored Moments are just one more way publishers can monetize their content on Twitter while making it easier for advertisers to reach audiences and sponsor premium content.”
