Online Transportation Company Ola has now partnered with US Tech giant Microsoft to build a connected vehicle platform using the latter’s cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and productivity tools to allow maintenance of vehicles and improve the passenger experience.
About the Vehicle Platform
This Vehicle platform will be built on Ola’s connected car platform Ola Play. This platform is designed to continually collect, analyze, and learn from high volumes of data and user behaviour, which will enable customized offerings such as usage-based insurance, amongst others.
Offering this Platform to Car Manufacturers
Ola will now collaborate with Microsoft to offer this connected vehicle platform to car manufacturers across the world to integrate with their vehicle systems. Apart from this, Ola will adopt Microsoft to use Microsoft Azure to power Ola Play. Ola Play customers can get access to Microsoft’s Office 365 and Skype for Business during their rides.
Delivering New Customer Experience
“Today’s car is quickly becoming the ultimate computing device and together with Ola, we’re focused on providing more intelligent, connected and productive experiences to our customers,” said Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft. “The combination of Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and our AI platform with Ola Play will deliver new customer experiences and business opportunities across the automotive ecosystem.”
In future, Microsoft and Ola will also plan to build safety features and advanced driver assistant services, the company said in a statement.
