Google’s John Mueller was questioned that if putting an H5 before an H1 on a page would hurt the page from ranking well in Google. To which Mueller replied “nope” it will not end up affecting the page from ranking organically in Google Search.

John Mueller recently said that the numbers themselves – H1 vs H6 does not matter either. So there is nothing like that it will hurt you however if you do design your pages well it can then help Google better understand the page and the website.
