Twitter has been looking for ways to improve DMs and now the company is planning to launch an updated DM experience in May. The key focus seems to be the updated message search capacity. Now you can search in your DMs, but only by username.

Twitter also tested with more advanced search features in the past, like searching in a particular DM thread for the links and media files.

The ability to search by message could be a huge advancement. There is no such information on what will be updated but we can expect changes coming to DMs soon.
