UClean, Gurgaon based laundry startup, has associated with Alliance laundry Systems, US based provider of commercial laundry systems. As per deal, the Alliance Laundry Systems will supply appliances having value of Rs 35 crore to the UClean in next 3 years.
Partnership will strengthen UClean’s services
CEO and founder of UClean, Arunabh Sinha, said that, “Alliance Laundry Systems are the most advanced laundry manufacturing company in the world and hence this partnership would help us build systems that are advanced, efficient and quality-focused”.
Alliance to Enter in India
According to the deal of partnership, UClean will support Alliance to put its leg in Indian marketplace along with developing a Laundromat culture in India.
About UClean
UClean was established in October of 2016 with the focus to bring the Do-it-Yourself culture in the field of laundry and also help customers with the pick-n-drop service. Franchise India had invested an undisclosed amount in the company last year.
Laundromats culture is to begin in India
Neil Ghadi who is the Country Head of India at Alliance Laundry Systems, said that, “The culture of laundromats is starting to take roots in India and the conventional players are also moving to sophisticated washing machines to provide best quality service and optimize their time. Alliance Laundry Systems sees growth opportunities in this segment in India and for customers who want to participate in it”.
Working model of UClean
UClean has a base model of franchise but also owns few stores. It is currently active in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune.
Other contenders
The on-demand laundry is gaining importance in India but there is a long path ahead of them. It has seen many ups and down in recent past with Doormint, a Mumbai based startup shutting up operations last year whereas PickMyLaundry acquired OneClickWash in the first quarter of the year.
