Uber, US-based cab hailing company, is seeking to add more techies in its team for its engineering centres in India to stretch its leg in areas like bookings, payments, rider as well as driver experience with innovations.
Uber to add UPI on its platform for instant payment
Additionally it is in talk with NPCI (National Payment Corporation of India) to offer its customers to make payment through UPI.
Then customers would be able to link their account with any bank which is participating in UPI to make a UPI ID for an instant, safe and secure payment.
Intense hiring is on
Apurva Dalal, engineering head at Uber India, said that, “We are hiring rapidly. We are looking for product managers, data scientists, designers etc”.
Centres of Uber in India
There are two engineering centers of Uber in India: Bangalore and Hyderabad. On these centers, team is working on payments, safety, driver growth, vehicle telematics, maps, rider experience, and so forth. Almost 100 of employees are working here. Well it is not revealed yet about the number at which hiring will close.

Uber is securing itself against a serious fight for market initiative in India with homegrown company Ola. It has been dealing with presenting features intended for Indian markets that includes introduction of cash payments.

Challenges in Indian Market
He said that, “There are many challenges that are specific to the Indian market. Things like patchy Internet connectivity and poor mapping coverage are some challenges that we are trying to solve and solutions are extended to other markets that may face similar challenges”.

India is the biggest market after US for Uber and it collects almost 12% of all trips. Uber is operated in 29 cities of the India.
